Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc and is generally a safe material that does not cause allergies. Although it can age easily, it is very easy to clean and can be restored to its original appearance by simply rubbing it with soap and water or vinegar. One of the cleaning tricks you can use with brass is ketchup. It works because the mild acid in tomatoes can remove tarnish from the piece without damaging it.

• Do not wear your earrings while showering.
• To clean your earrings, use a slightly damp cloth (with soap and water for the clay part, white vinegar or ketchup for the brass part).
